Note from the President

Mrs Akua Leigh-Williams
February 2021 - June 2021 (Interim)
2021 –

Welcome to the website of St Joseph’s Convent Secondary School Ex-Pupils’ Association (UK Branch). As the President of this noble Association, I would like to express my gratitude for your interest in our cause and your willingness to lend a helping hand.

Our mission is to make a positive impact by raising funds for our beloved school to provide quality education and enrich the lives of the students, creating a lasting change in their lives.

I am honoured to be serving as President for this Association. I am grateful to the Trustees and Executive team for their invaluable support and advice and the members for the confidence and trust that they placed in me. The membership as a whole has been dedicated, committed and tenacious especially during the past few challenging years dealing with the pandemic and the rising cost of living.

Notwithstanding, we have stood strong in our passion to make a difference to our Alma Mater. In collaboration with the 5 other Chapters of Ex-Pupils’ Association – Freetown, Mid-Atlantic, Texas, South-Eastern and California, we embarked on the 2-1 project to construct a new building to move the school from a double to a single shift. The “turning of the sod” was on 10th October 2020, swiftly followed by the commencement of the building works. With pride, I inform you that the project was completed in July 2022 and handed over to the school in September 2022 in time for the new academic year. To date, this is the biggest project ever to be undertaken by any School Alumni Association in Sierra Leone!

This would not have been possible without your contributions and support. As we continue in our quest to support our school both financially and otherwise, we hope that you will continue to be on this journey with us. Once again, thank you for your unwavering support to our cause. God bless you.

Esto Fidelis!

Akua Leigh-Williams

President
